How does Jump to South Africa work?

The Jump to South Africa fundraiser runs from March 1 to April 18. During that time your child simply has to register and raise the most money for Jumpstart through online donations made at their personalized fundraising page.

Friends, family, neighbours, classmates and other supporters can make donations online in support of your child, or your child can collect cash and cheque donations and you can submit those donations online via your credit card.

All donors who make a contribution over $20 CDN will receive a tax receipt. If your child generates the most donations, he or she will earn a once-in-a-lifetime experience of attending the 2010 Coca-Cola® Soccer Camp in South Africa with a friend!

The Soccer Camp Reward is valued at over $11,000 CDN and includes:

• Trip for 2 individuals (aged 13-16) to Pretoria, South Africa (50 km from Johannesburg)
• 6 days and 5 nights at the High Performance Centre (June 15 - 20, 2010)
• Airfare and local transportation
• African Safari and other activities
• 2 tickets to a World Cup game

Only children aged 13 to 16 as of June 1, 2010 are eligible for the dream trip to South Africa, but anyone can fundraise for a chance to earn the other amazing rewards. If someone who is not between the ages of 13-16 earns the trip, that individual can pass it on to someone who is eligible and will be rewarded with a Sony VAIO Netbook.

NOTE: Your child needs your permission to participate in this fundraiser. When you or your child register to fundraise, you will be prompted to read a waiver and agree to the conditions. To review the waiver, click here.

What can you do to help?

If your child hasn't signed up, let them know about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and encourage them to participate!

If your child has signed up, you can help them raise the most money!

• Ask your child to send you the link to their fundraising page so you can visit and spread the word by:
   · Sending emails
   · Posting on Facebook
   · Tweeting on Twitter

See below for examples of messages that you can use!

• Ask grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, coworkers, neighbours, coaches and teachers to visit and donate.
• Once your child is registered and logged in, encourage them to print a Pledge Form and collect cash and cheques (Parents will have to make these donations via their credit card through the child's fundraising site – all individual donors who contribute over $20 CDN will receive a tax receipt)
